SINGING MEN COMMON SPIRIT

Thank you!

Dear Fellow Alumni,

The 2012 Tenebrae season was a resounding success attracting most of the regular faces, but it was great to to see a number of new participants as well. So on behalf of all of the host parishes this year, thank you to all of you that gave your time and shared your voice. This year we sang a Tenebrae service at Our Lady of Grace Shrine at Marylake which served as a fundraiser for the retreat centre. All who participated will be proud to know that we helped them raise just over $6,000 for the Centre.

We can never have a large enough bank of avaialble singers to join us when called upon to sing at the funerals of alumni and alumni family and friends. Quite often these funerals are held during the work week so being able to gather a reasonable size group of singers can often be a challenge. So please register with the Alumni Choir using the online registration form found on this page. Please click on the link below and you will be directed to our online registration form where you will be asked to provide us some basic contact information and to answer some questions which will give us an indication of your level of interest and and in what areas you may like to participate.

In addition to singing at funerals, every Christmas we perform a concert at St. James Church in Colgan, Ontario which is the birthplace of Msgr. J.E. Ronan. In recent years we have performed at nursing homes at which some of our alumni family members may be residing to help them celebrate the Christmas season. This year we will once again be singing with the Brantford Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Philip Sarabura '77. Please review the invitation and information about participating in that performance also found on this page.

The SMCS Alumni Choir is made up of graduates and anyone who attended St. Michael's Choir School for any period of time over the past 70 plus years. New faces are always welcome to attend concerts and join in the singing.

Sincerely,

Adrian Luces '79 & Paul Townshend '75
